Krabi province and Phi Phi islands

1 • Phang Nga Bay

We leave the Marina and head towards Phang Nga Bay.
Its limestone cliffs create a picturesque backdrop and many safe places to stay at anchor.
Protected by monsoons from the North-East and South-West, it is the ideal place to visit all year round.
Its bay is composed of many islands, many of which are uninhabited.
One of the most famous is the island of James Bond, made famous by the film series 007 "The Man with the Golden Gun" and since then renamed James Bond Island.
Characterized by the presence of a vertical cone, with inverted base that has the appearance of a huge nail 20 meters high!
The island is very small, you can not dock, but offers glimpses of remarkable beauty.

3 • Railay - Krabi

Railay or Railey is not as popular as James Bond and Phi Phi, but is perfect for snorkelling thanks to its crystal clear waters.
It is located between the cities of Krabi and Ao Nang, and is only accessible by boat because of the presence of the highest cliffs that block access from the mainland. Nonetheless, it is popular for its beautiful beaches and relaxing atmosphere.
From here we will sail to the archipelago of the Poda islands.

4 • Archipelago Poda Islands -

The archipelago of the Poda islands consists of 4 distinct islands: Koh Poda, Koh Kai, Koh Tup and Koh Por.
The water is clear and in this mini archipelago there is the most beautiful and transparent sea of the province.
At low tide, sand tongues emerge from the sea that connect the islets of Koh Kai (also known as Chicken Island due to the presence of a rock that resembles the head of a chicken, visible only from the sea) and Koh Tup. It is suggestive to go here during the low tide to enjoy this phenomenon!
The island of Poda is the most scenic among the 4, with large limestone cliffs covered with vegetation and a beautiful and long beach that surrounds the entire eastern side of the island.

5 • Isole Phi Phi

Phi Phi is a must to see; composed of 2 islands: Phi Phi Lee and Phi Phi Don.
Phi Phi Lee is a nature park, with no houses or shops. It is characterized by a lot of bays: Maya Bay, the most beautiful; Viking Cave known as "Tham Phaya Nak" for the presence of paintings found on the walls of the cave, representing various types of boats, most likely made by sailors who sheltered inside during a storm.
We leave Phi Phi Lee and head towards Phi Phi Don, where we advise you to get off the ground because it is full of shops, where you can also make galley, restaurants and clubs where you can spend a wonderful evening.
On the south-western side of Tonsai Bay you will find the world-famous Monkey Beach, famous not only for its "hairy" inhabitants but also as a snorkelling spot. Pay close attention to the behavior of these wild animals, do not give them food and do not get too close, they could bite you and surely you do not want to visit the Phi Phi hospital to get rabies vaccine during your holidays!

6 • Koh Mai Thon

We will spend the penultimate day of our holiday in Koh Mai Thon.
Here we can swim with the dolphins and snorkel or relax on its beach with its white coral sand and find the shade under the coconut palms: a dream beach!
We leave in the direction of Naka Island, where we will spend the night and take a last dip in the morning before returning to base.
